The logic that more of a good thing must be better is understandable — but with Shilajit, it doesn't hold. Shilajit works through the gradual replenishment of trace minerals and the cumulative support of cellular energy systems. These are processes that respond to consistent daily input at the right dose — not to higher doses that try to accelerate a fundamentally slow process.
The recommended daily serving for Shilajit is not a conservative lower bound — it is the optimal amount based on the research and traditional use. Exceeding this doesn't produce proportionally greater benefits, but it does increase the risk of side effects and places unnecessary burden on the body's mineral processing systems.

Drink plenty of water and eat something if your stomach feels unsettled. Monitor for symptoms including dizziness, significant nausea, or any other concerning effects. Contact a health professional or poison control if you have taken a very large amount or experience significant symptoms.
At slightly elevated doses, significant mineral toxicity is unlikely — the amounts involved are nutritional rather than pharmacological. At very large amounts over extended periods, iron overload could theoretically be a concern for susceptible individuals. A lower dose will produce proportionally less of the mineral replenishment benefit. If budget or sensitivity is a concern, a lower dose consistently every day is better than the full dose taken irregularly. But the recommended serving is calibrated for meaningful results — half the dose may not provide sufficient fulvic acid and mineral content to produce the intended effect.
