Our Story

We’re Dave and Graedon - friends, founders, and now co-pilots of EQUIL. Our paths have overlapped in smoothie shacks, on mountaintops in Peru, beside firelight freestyle sessions, and through the shared belief that natural health shouldn't come with a catch.

Before EQUIL, we each built our own projects, always aligned with purpose. Graedon launched the Organic Mechanic OMShack in Parnell (2013–2021), brewing up probiotic-packed kombucha and serving up some of the first smoothie bowls in Auckland. Dave (with a nudge of inspiration from OMShack) opened Vitality Organics in Mount Maunganui in 2015 — still slinging goodness today. Along the way, Dave also grew and sold Flow State, a functional mushroom company that made waves in the wellness space. Meanwhile, Graedon was helping to set up Mangaroa Farms, a regenerative food and education hub on the edge of Wellington, while co-leading men's wellbeing circles through @bros.nz.

In 2022, our shared love for natural solutions and our frustration with the supplement industry's shortcuts brought us together with focus. We’d both seen too many "natural" products that felt more like filler than function. EQUIL was born from that spark — not just to sell supplements, but to create something that genuinely helps people feel like themselves again.

We started with 5-HTP, derived from Griffonia simplicifolia, because of its profound ability to support serotonin — a key player in mood, sleep, and emotional balance. Dave experienced its benefits firsthand as a sleep-deprived dad; Graedon had long seen its value as a natural booster for mental health. But quality was lacking on the market. So we sourced it ourselves. Tested it. Took it. Felt it. Then shared it.

And this is just the beginning. EQUIL is grounded in the elements - from mountains to the sea - not in synthetics or shortcuts. We exist to support the inner reset - to help people return to balance so they can live fully, laugh loudly, and get back to doing what they love.

We’re stoked you’re here. Let’s build something good together.
